Welcome to BTCC’s API.
This page is the official and sole documentation for BTCC’s API. The functionalities and services provided by BTCC’s API will be continuously updated in this page, and any future announcements or updates will be made here.
 
<h2 id="h_01HDK4MJTZ47SX3VHM6XXR9MYC">Integration</h2>
To use BTCC’s API, please <a href="https://www.btcc.com/en-US/login">log in</a> to the web portal first and complete the application and permission configuration for the API keys. Then, refer to the instructions below for details on development and trading. 
After logging in, you can use <a href="https://www.btcc.com/en-US/user-center/setting/api">this link</a> to create an API key. 
Each user can create a maximum of 5 sets of API keys, and each API key can be configured with read and trade permissions.
 
For each set of API keys, you can bind up to 5 unique IP addresses.
 
The permissions are explained as follows:
• Read Permission: Read permission is used for querying data interfaces, such as order inquiries, transaction history, etc.
• Trade Permission: Trade permission is used for placing orders and canceling orders.
 
After successfully creating your API keys, please write down or keep a record of your Secret Key (visible only during the application process).

Note: Remember not to share your Secret Key with anyone. If you accidentally expose your Secret Key, please delete the corresponding API Key as soon as possible to prevent any potential loss to your account.

The Transfer feature on BTCC allows users to seamlessly and efficiently transfer funds between their futures account and wallet account, enabling better funds allocation for futures trading.
 
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can transfer funds between your futures account and wallet account.

 2. How to Transfer Funds on the BTCC App
</h2>
 
Step 1
On your BTCC app, go to the Assets page and tap Transfer.

 Step 2
Choose the transfer direction by tapping on the Transfer icon. As seen from the example shown below, we’re transferring funds from the futures account to the wallet account.

Choose the currency you want to transfer and input the amount. Alternatively, you may make use of the percentage number listed, which are 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, to transfer a proportion of your funds. You can also see the maximum amount available for transfer.

Step 3
Check the details (the currency and the amount) and tap Confirm for the transfer. If you are transferring funds from your futures account to your wallet account, you will see a reminder informing you of an increased risk for the position(s) in the futures account. Tap Confirm to proceed.

Once you confirm the transfer, you can check the transfer history by tapping on the ‘Check transfer history’ button.

The currencies available in the Transfer feature include USDT, BTC, ETH, XRP, ADA, and LTC.

How to transfer funds on BTCC

<h2 id="h_01H8ZH5F6R04ZR725SZW4ZR5X2">A. Introduction of Funding Fees</h2>
The funding fee is the core operating mechanism of BTCC perpetual futures.
The setting of the funding fee aims to ensure that the transaction price of the perpetual futures closely follows the underlying reference price through the regular exchange of funding fees between the long and short traders.

 B. Description of Funding Fees</h2>
1. BTCC does not take any funding fees, which are collected between users.
 2. Funding fees are applied every 8 hours, specifically at 01:00, 09:00, 17:00 (UTC). As long as you have open positions at these three specific times, funding fees will be automatically applied to the open trades. For a better user experience, we will calculate the fees without suspending your transactions. Therefore, during the funding fee collection period, there may be delays in calculation. For example, you may still be charged or paid if you open or close your positions at 09:00:05.
 3. Funding fees (if any) will be deducted from your futures account balance, which may affect your liquidation price. Please manage your positions accordingly to avoid any risk of forced liquidation. The actual funding fee that you can receive also depends on the total amount deducted from the counterparty's account by the system.

 C. Funding Fee Calculations</h2>
1. The formula for calculating the funding fee that you pay or receive is as follows: Funding Fee = Funding rate × position value The value of your position has nothing to do with leverage and is not based on how much margin you have allocated to that position:
 2. The funding rate calculation formula is as follows:
 Funding rate = {average premium index (P) + Clamp[interest rate (I) − average premium index (P), a, b}
 The interest rate index I=0.01%. The average of the average premium index P is the simple average of the premium index, and the premium index reflects the premium relationship between the contract price and the spot index price. The specific formula is as follows:
 Premium index = [Max(0, Impact bid price-price index)-Max(0, benchmark price-Impact ask price)] / benchmark price
 The premium index is calculated every minute.
 1) Impact bid and ask prices Impact bid price = the average price when the buying queue reaches the "Impact Guaranteed Amount" Impact ask price = the average price when the selling queue reaches the "Impact Guaranteed Amount"
 2) Impact Guarantee Amount The impact guarantee amount refers to the amount that can be traded with a margin of 200 USDT. The specific formula is as follows: Impact guarantee amount = 200 USDT / minimum maintenance margin rate Example: The minimum maintenance margin rate of BTCUSDT is 0.5% Then the impact margin amount of the BTCUSDT contract=200USDT/0.5%=40000USDT

 D. Unusual Circumstances</h2>
When there are major shifts in the market, BTCC reserves the right to modify the maximum and minimum limits of the funding rate and raise the number of funding fee application times from three times daily to more than three.

<h2 id="h_01JSECC6E0CV468BE9G3HY744X">What is the Risk Reserve Fund?</h2>
The BTCC Risk Reserve Fund is an emergency fund established to protect traders’ assets and provide a fair trading environment. Funded by BTCC, the fund aims to cover the losses of bankrupt users (negative balance accounts) and the losses caused by system failures.
 
<h2 id="h_01JSECC6E085A8T3DK0S2SP04Q">What is the Risk Reserve Fund used for?</h2>
A trader’s account balance may go below 0 during extreme market conditions when their losses exceed their margins. In this case, BTCC will cover 100% of bankrupt users’ negative balance with the Risk Reserve Fund Balance. When system failures occur during trading, compensation of a reasonable amount will be paid to traders from the Risk Reserve Fund Balance.
 
<h2 id="h_01JSECC6E0YE8YNYAWKSVPG29Q">Where does the Risk Reserve Fund come from?</h2>
BTCC initially fully funded the risk reserve with 1 million USDT. Subsequently, 5% of BTCC's platform fee income contributes to the reserve.​
 
<h2 id="h_01JSECC6E0MQYG1ZHCCS5FYSTD">When is the Risk Reserve Fund Balance updated?</h2>
Both Risk Reserve Fund Balance and Used Risk Reserve Fund are updated weekly.
 Note: The Risk Reserve Fund is fully funded by BTCC, and BTCC reserves the right to alter, revise, modify, and/or change these terms at any time.

BTCC’s crypto conversion feature allows users to convert between different cryptocurrencies easily. If you would like to convert your crypto assets on BTCC, please follow the guide below.
 2. How to Convert Crypto on the BTCC app
 
Step 1
Tap Convert on the home page.

Step 2
Select your currency and the currency you want to convert to. In the example below, we are converting Bitcoin (BTC) to Tether (USDT). Tap the small grey arrow to switch to other currencies.
Then input the amount you want, or you can easily choose to convert 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of the crypto you have by tapping the buttons. The amount available for conversion is shown in the available balance.
Confirm the currencies and amount, and tap Get the latest quote to get a quote of your conversion.

The exchange rate is calculated based on the market depth at the time of the conversion. Therefore, the conversion amount you will receive is subject to the actual quote.

Q3: What should I do if I see the warning “Insufficient balance”?
